Royal Ordnance Factory Nottingham [ ROF(N), ROF Nottingham ] History

In this section of the Site we have collected together images associated with the small arms apects at Nottingham.

We have broken this down into two main areas: the Nottingham Small Arms Facility (NSAF) and the People who were involved within the NSAF.

We have also included two other sections which are related.

Firstly some images that are associated with the Royal Small Arms Factory (RSAF) Enfield, the forerunner to the NSAF set-up.

And finally we have the Pattern Room collection, which was transferred from RSAF Enfield to Nottingham when Enfield was closed. The collection was installed into a purpose built building located near to the existing Main Admin building. This collection remained MOD property and the facility was leased to the MOD to keep the collection together - and close to the small arms designers. The collection was open to people who had a genuine interest in small arms research and a number of visits took place. Indeed for visitors on military training courses who came the to the site, it was normal to include a trip to the Pattern Room in their site tour.
