Introduction
The majority of the visits that were made to the Factory were in conjunction with on-going programmes of work.
Generally the Civic visitors came as part of the Apprentice prize giving ceromonies; the military visitors attended to be briefed on the current production and development work that was in progress at the time.
Other regular visitors came from different Military Colleges when course members attended different industrial facilities to gain practical experience in support of their academic course-work.
Specials
A number of visits have been made by members of the Royal Family during the life of the Factory. Notable by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth who made a secret suprise visit in January 1939, Prince Philip during the 70's and the Duke of Kent in the 80's.
